Transgender Healthcare Provider Training

T-Net board members are available to provide trainings to healthcare providers, clinics/agencies, and students/trainees. We recommend a minimum of 4 hours for an effective training. Below is an example of typical training objectives.

• Understand the standards of care and informed consent model, and critical elements of providing quality services for transgender and gender expansive individuals.
• Briefly review Transgender-101 concepts, barriers to care, and elements of a trans-affirming environment.
• Increase knowledge about the diversity of gender journeys and identities.
• Understand common challenges to well-being.
• Understand the possible steps related to social and medical transition.
• Learn about the resources available locally and nationally to aid in providing quality care for transgender and gender expansive individuals.
