About the Transgender Health Network
In February 2011, three psychologists began meeting with the intention of forming a network of health care professionals specifically focused on increasing and improving health care services to trans-identified and gender expansive individuals in our community. The first open meeting of the Transgender Health Network (T-Net) occurred in August 2011 and since that time, T-Net has grown to include medical and mental health providers from numerous health care settings.
Since its formation, T-Net members have attended and presented at several conferences (Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition Conference, Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, Missouri’s Transgender Spectrum Conference) and provided trainings for local healthcare providers. We have also held case consultation and educational meetings. We have a booth at Mid-MO Pridefest, and have supported The Center Project in various ways. Over the years, we have helped providers connect with and learn from each other, which has increased the number and quality of healthcare providers for local trans folks. In Summer 2017, T-Net formed a board and became recognized as a non-profit organization. Read our bylaws.
T-Net membership is open to healthcare providers in the greater Columbia, MO area who have an interest and/or professional involvement in the treatment of transgender and gender expansive individuals and their families. Any T-Net member is eligible to be on the Board. Info about current board members.
